Useful, efficient railroads, along with accessible healthcare, decent-paying jobs and solid educational opportunities, should be cornerstones of modern life. If only Americans could be persuaded to stop electing representatives to Congress who are happy to give away the fiscal farm as tax breaks for the 1%, and instead elect those who support -- and are willing to commit taxpayer dollars -- to things that benefit 99% of Americans.

A forthright call by RPA for adequately taxing the rich is an essential step toward a fiscally responsible and sustainable transportation policy.

One train a day is not a solution to passenger Rail thank you Jim Matthews for putting this on paper so to speak neither is three trains a week a solution two trains a day in each direction is the minimum starting point one evening one morning Train who are however, you want to state it and a midday train. This should be the bare minimum seven days per week. Look at ridership statistics on days when writer ship is already heavy so to speak schedule more Trainz as writer shipping increases add more. Let’s add more Trainz on more routes buy more equipment and get Americans on the rails.
