Answer to the September 9th question: So… this is where your host screwed up a little. He was thinking more along the lines of “living people” around the time Amtrak was formed - give or take a few years (Carl Sandburg was the answer he was thinking of). But as you all have pointed out, there are a few current trains named for historical folks as well.
